The new owners of this classic Tudor-style home in the Oakland Hills requested a design plan that celebrated the home’s architectural charms in a bright modern update. To fulfill the brief, we mixed vintage pieces with custom and contemporary furnishings to create a layered look that feels true to this historic home. Curated textiles create an atmosphere of relaxed elegance, in a refreshed palette that reflects the surrounding gardens.
Making the most of this small space for these avid entertainers, we carved an inviting dining space from a corner of the kitchen, upholstering a custom banquette in more garden-inspired textiles, and sought out the perfect antique cabinet to serve as a bar bridging the dining and living areas.
