The beautiful bones of this craftsman in the Rockridge neighborhood of Oakland include classic woodworking, archways, and a gracious floor plan. Still, the owners wanted more light, more drama, and more elegant finishes.

In the living room, our furnishings plan embraces modern shapes and luxurious materials in a high-contrast palette of organic neutrals. We added a marble fireplace that lightens the space and elevates its existing features.

We also defined two dining areas for the avid entertainers—one formal and sophisticated, one casual and down-to-earth.
